District 1199C Holds Annual Health Fair
District 1199C National Union of Hospital and Health Care Employees, AFSCME, AFL-CIO sponsored a Health Fair on Saturday April 10, 2010 at union headquarters at 1319 Locust Street. The annual event was well-attended and featured free blood pressure screenings, prostate cancer screenings and information regarding the importance of women getting regular mammograms.
Representatives from the American Cancer Society and American Heart Association were in attendance and available to speak with union members and their families. In addition, the event featured door prizes, a raffle and healthy snacks, as well as free children’s bike helmets provided by the Philadelphia Health Department’s Injury Prevention Program.
