District 1199C went to Washington, D.C. to fight against the rising cost of healthcare.
Our current healthcare system is sick! It costs too much to sustain. It leaves out too many Americans and it provides inadequate care for too many others. President Nicholas has said, “Republicans seem intent on blocking any healthcare reform and [President Obama’s] reform suggestions are too timid to result in the complete overhaul our healthcare system needs to succeed for healthcare consumers...Healthcare reform is on the horizon, we as healthcare consumers, we as citizens and we as organized labor must work to persuade our nation’s leaders to adopt [change]. .. This is the way to control healthcare costs, and to provide quality healthcare for all.”
