The Battle Ahead—Protecting your Pension Benefit
The severe stock market declines in 2008 caused the Pension Fund to lose 25% of its investment assets. This means that the Pension Fund no longer has the level of funding required by the Pension Protection Act.
There will be a federally required arbitration on November 9, 2010 to consider plans to reach the level of funding the law requires for the District’s Pension plan.
We have until November 26 to come up with a plan to reach the level of funding the law requires. Click here to llearn more about about this important issue.
